Most Cathedrals have cool windows, the National Cathedral in DC is no exception. Like take a look at this one. Btw, can any one read what it says at the bottom? – per request, see what it says at the bottom. When I took the photo I had no clue about it, discovered it only after started processing it and examining it in more details.
Last night I spent in Portland Oregon. According to weather reports today will be overcast with 90% chance rains. And they are right, outside is all grey with some rain already. So this morning I didn’t even bother of trying to see if there will be any type of sunrise. I woke up every 20 minutes or so and looked through my 16th floor hotel window to see how bad it is, just to see more rain. Then imagine my surprise when I saw this out of my window. Full rainbow (could not even fit it into my super wide lens). I don’t remember when I saw a full rainbow, many many years ago.
I think Portland was smiling at me, was saying good morning and tried to excuse itself for Northwest winter weather.
It lasted about 5 minutes and then it disappeared, back to the grey and dull skies with more rain. Ok time to go get some Starbucks now.
This is a continuation of murals series from around Winston-Salem. I have seen this one for a long time, just never had a chance to stop and take a picture, till now. I’m not a biker and actually never saw the movie, but when I see this building for some reason it always reminds the movie that I never saw. Kind of weird huh?
Young Chinese, or maybe she is Uyghur – highly unlikely as she is wearing pants, girl is getting ready for business in Urumqi China. I believe those are apples or some type of other fruit, covered in some kind of glazing, probably sold for about 30-40 cents (2-3 Chinese Yuan) per stick. We just visited Hong Shan Park (Red Mountain) and were walking back to our hotel when I saw her standing along near this decaying apartment building, patiently getting ready for another round of selling cycle, hoping to make a bit of living on whatever tiny profit margin she will get from it.
