Looking at Mount Mitchell, the highest point on the East coast. Trees are slowly getting some green on them, at lower elevation already fully green, yet here most ridges are see through.

Driving blueridgeparkway in the fog is cool experience. Sometimes it get so thick, can’t see 20-30 feet out. Good thing there are very few cars on this road during this type of weather. Took this on my way to the Mount Mitchell. We don’t get similar fog in Colorado, not that I can remember, but Appalachian mountains get it a lot.

It was raining this morning down in Asheville and I was thinking about all the snow we got back in Boulder, so I decided to drive up to the highest mountaintop, mountmitchell on the east coast, thankfully only hour away. It did not disappoint, as we got to the top, it was snowing. My puppy was very happy!

Over the last couple years on every short trip or hike I try to take as many photos as I can. When the trip is done, I might process some of them, but many will be just seating on the hard drive. Occasionally I’ll browse through them and try to find something to process and show on the blog. Yesterday I have been processing bunch of them from the same day, during which we hiked and then spent some time around town. I did a few time lapses at the time as well. Hopefully I can get all of them ready soon, compile into short movie and post it online.
This was one of the first photos I took that day as we went on a short hike at Mount Mitchell.
