In Need of Little Paradise

Its funny, how it goes, there have been only a few weeks of cold weather and I’m already complaining about it and want to be in some place much warmer, like where those two girls are. Of course that was in the summer and it is probably not so warm there now, but there are plenty of places around the world where one can enjoy the same clear and warm waters right at this moment. People always look funny at me and make jokes when I complaint about cold weather in the winter time. It goes something like this, they say – ‘you grew up in some fu**g Siberia, you should feel at home in the cold’, the same stupid stereotype over and over. Me, being generally nice and polite, I usually back at them with the fact that I have lived in the South, that is US South for almost 20 years and I’m not use to cold anymore, and in fact I didn’t grow up in Siberia. While yes growing up in Central Asia, we had some pretty darn harsh winters, but it was no Siberia, not every Russian comes from Siberia.

Friday Mystery Photo

I love those Mediterranean looking roofs. There is something earthily about them, don’t you think? I see many of them in US as well, so where is this one?

Saturday update…A few of you suggested that it is somewhere in Europe. It is Antalya Turkey!

Monday Morning Movie

If video is not shown in the browser or applications then visit it at Mediterranean Sunrise from Dmitrii on Vimeo.

This is 16th second time spot photo in this video. We were at Renaissance resort near Antalya Turkey this summer and I took a few short time lapses and some photos. As you might figured it out, every Monday I’m posting one of my short videos and one of the photos from that video. I have half a dozen of them at the moment so every video get shown about every six weeks. I’m trying to compile couple more videos, just have no time to do it yet, too busy with other things with my off work available time.

Friday Mystery Photo

It is another Friday of course and we have another “Friday Mystery Photo” for you. This one is from a very sunny place as we can see, even with some water, so must be easy to figure out, or is it?

I tried to put this photo through HDR process and it just didn’t look good. Sometimes single raw photo processed with HDR techniques can produce very nice results, not in this case. I liked the original look of it much better.
