IN Your Face

This is an impressive aircraft. I took this photo probably 3-4 feet away from the nose of it, with 14mm wide lens it appears farther than that, but you have to come really close to your subject to get it look even this close. This museum is located near the Dulles airport and free to public, except that you have to pay to park, around $15 if I remember it right, and as far as I know there is no public transportation to get you there. They do not allow tripods but I was told that monopods are OK. I was shooting it all handheld.

BTW, if you want to see more photos from this museum then just go to Air Space Museum category under Virginia – right there –> on the right side. I think they all are pretty cool. Also, I think it looks better in high resolution, which is easy to see, all you need is to click on the image!

Virginia Creeper Trail

This Fall I wanted to take a picture of every bridge on the Virginia Creeper Trail. It didn’t happen. One reason is that I didn’t bike through the entire trail in the Fall, well that is pretty much is the reason. We went there right in the middle of the Fall color season but could not make all 17 miles from White top to Damascus. I think there are around 30 of them on the trail, all look and made slightly different. All of them were made to hold a train, but I think many of them were rebuild since the train tracks were taken down. You can see that construction materials are the same as used on the railroad tracks, big and strong.

For this bridge I was trying to find something interesting in the foreground and decided to use this plant, I called it Rabbit Ears plant. It is very low to the ground and it took me a few takes to get it all in at the right angle. BTW, I think it is much better if you look at this image in large format – just click on it and it will be open in higher quality and larger format. Thanks for stopping by!

Grayson Highlands Park Waterfalls

This was taken in early September around 5PM, with overcast skies and coming rain. Waterfalls were covered with canopy and pretty dark. It is interesting how this image came out after processing.

What is this building?

I’m sure it has a name. It is one of the main visual attractions in Alexandria, VA.

Rolling Out

We have seen it empty, we have seen it coming. Now, it is time to see it roll out.
