Friday Mystery Photo

Spring is finally coming around with everything getting into some nice full bloom. Couple days ago I managed to stop by the Tidal Basin in Washington DC during sunrise and take a few photos. Cherry Blossoms were not in its full awesome “blossomnes” (that seems to be not the right spelling) yet, just a few days short. I won’t be able to see them this year during the peak time, but some photos I have are nice too and I’ll try to share them over weekend or next week.

Since there would be no mystery in posting those photos, I’m pulling something out from archive, maybe not as obvious to all. The mystery here is not only the mountain that you see in the background, but from where it was taken. Can you name both of them? btw, that guys there on a rocky cliff is not me, it is not a selfy…

Weekend update: To all who said that this is Mt Rainier – you are right. It is Mt Rainier, as it was seen from the Mt Si. I hiked there one evening to take some sunset photos and really didn’t know what to expect and what I’d see from the top of it. I thought that I’d see in far west Seattle skyscrapers, and maybe on a super clear day you can see them, but it was hazy and cloudy and you could see nothing interesting to the west, except setting sun. To the south you could see this lovely view.

Ruby Beach

Ahh, the Pacific North West, its ragged and wild beauty. I only visited it a few times and loved every one of them. So different from the East coast. We just might move somewhere there one day and live for some time, experience it all first hand for a bit.

I have been a bit of a Netflix addict lately, watching a few different shows simultaneously, not all at the same time of course. Like on weekends we are watching 1-2 episodes of the “Twin Peaks”. Never heard of it prior to two weeks ago, awesome show, absolutely hilarious, and the phrase “Nothing like a great cup of black coffee”  as said by Agent Cooper is probably going to be adopted by me too, as it is really true. Have you seen it?

Green

It was a bit windy and the crops had nice waves over them, pretty site. I liked those lines from the highway so I had to find a spot to pull off and then ran back to take a few shots.

This types of fields probably can be seen all over the place, in this case, around Colfax Washington.

Hike to Mount Si

Last summer I spent some time in Redmond Washington. While I have been to Seattle a few times and took a few photos in the city, this time I wanted to check out some hikes to the east of Redmond. Someone suggested to me the hike to Mount Si, so one day right after work I headed straight to the trail head of this hike, it is only about 45 or so minutes drive from the Redmond town center. I wanted to get up all the way to the pick before sunset.

Most of the hike is not very exciting, you hike like forever, up and up, no views at all. One portion of the hike was facing the west side and had some sun rays coming through. If you ever been to the forest like this and have seen the sun coming through and lighting up the branches, you know how mesmerizing it is. So I took this shot and continued on this four mile hike up the mountain.

Palouse Sunrise

Yesterday’s photo is from the same area as this photo. For this one we had to get up super early and get our selves to the Steptoe Butte State Park to enjoy the sunrise and have beautiful 360 views of the eastern Washington. I would go to this area again, in a heartbeat, to see it all over again. Beautiful place. If you never been there, put it on your bucket list and make it happen.

As always, all of my photos are best viewed in the higher resolution, just click on it. Enjoy.
