The Hook

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. It is going to rain all day here in North Carolina. For all the new visitors, I have almost 400 photos on this site, from different places, explorer it on the right side under categories.

Nor Cal

We are going for a little spring break to San Francisco. Two days around Napa Valley, couple days in the city and then couple days near Big Sur. Anyone have any recommendations for some cool photography around those places? I’m sure we’ll be overwhelmed with what that area has to offer, but if there are some interesting places off beaten pass, we might try to make there too.

In Boston

Many people will probably recognize downtown Boston. Cloudy sunset in a cool city. Enjoy.

Boston Court House

A few days back I shared with you “Ghosts are Sailing to Boston” photo, showing Boston downtown. While looking at downtown from the same spot and turning to your left you’ll see this building. US Federal Court House, I believe specializing in Naval affairs. If I remember it right it was designed to resemble some type of naval instrument.

Just a reminder that if you want to see this photo in higher resolution then all you have to do is to click on it. It will open in my Photo Gallery. Also, if you want to see more photos from Boston or some other interesting place then explorer Categories on the right side. Every post is categorized by the place it was taken at and you can easily navigate around it. Up to date I have almost 300 photos on this site – a lot to look at.

Harvard Square

This is where very smart people get their education, or smart people with a lot of very good connections, or maybe somewhat average on IQ scale but with lots and lots of $ and good connections, or maybe all above. I heard that about 30-50% of the current student body is related or somehow affiliated with Harvard alumni’s.

It was interesting to see all these chairs spread around the lawn. They encourage people to sit and talk to each other. I wonder if this is normal mode of operation at Harvard Square or they only put it out during weekends or some specific occasions. We were there on a Saturday and it was packed with tourists, Chinese mostly, I must mention. As I as walking around the campus I kind of realized that it didn’t click with me, it didn’t feel cozy or impressive, or like a place where I’d want to spend four years of my life (if hypothetically my life was different and I had a chance to come and study here) – maybe it is because of all those tourists! It didn’t feel like university campus, more like some kind of tourist attraction.

Ghosts are Sailing to Boston

Last weekend I went to see my daughter at Andover and we ended up eating in Boston every night of our visit to Massachusetts. Every night in Chinatown. Good food. Chinatown is not very interesting from photography point of view, at least I didn’t see any good views or cool looking buildings. So we went to the harbor to take some pictures. Both nights. Didn’t have a good sunset on either one of them, so it was a bit disappointing, but I still managed to take a few photos that I think are cool to share with ya all folks out there. Here is one of them.
