Photo Mania

The Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom. There are thousands of people coming out to look at them, everyone taking photos. Some are looking super pros, with big camera, click, click, click. Some are somewhere in the middle with midsize cameras and P&S. Some are with their smart phones only. True photo mania.

On the Road – WordPress Comment Management

While at work or on the road I do not have time or ability to go to my blog via normal browser to read and check the status of any new comments. Instead I use WordPress app on my Windows Smartphone to do that. It is simple to use, one touch to get into the app, one touch to see and read new comments, and then one touch to approve any that require approval.

How about you, do you use their app on your smart phones as well or you use some other tools, if any?

Almost at a Peak Bloom

I took this photo on the same morning as my last post – Spring’s Snow. It was cloudy, a bit windy and misty sunrise, well, there were no visible sunrise, it just got lighter. Most of the cherry trees were not in the full bloom yet, just some. I found this one to be in a good shape and fortunately with interesting background, so here you go, my first photo from this year’s Cherry Bloom season. If I make there again you’ll see a few more, hopefully with some sunlight as well.

Spring is Here, Spring is Here

What? You might ask.

Well, if you grew up or spent some time in Eastern Europe, then you might understand where I ‘m coming from with this heading. For me Spring starts on March 1st, first day of Spring season, not three weeks from now. Same as summer, it starts on June 1st.

The first time someone was trying to tell me that Spring does not start on March 1st was an Westerner about 20 years ago, we got into argument. I could not understand how she did not get that Spring starts on the first calendar day of the Spring, while she was thinking that I’m barbarian or something, thinking that Spring starts on March 1st. Well, for me it was and will always start on the first day of the Spring as it is shown on the calendar.

Cherry Blossoms around Tidal Pool are really awesome. It is very popular with tourists, if you ever in DC during last week in March or first week in April then you might be able to see it. I recommend to go see it during sunrise as you’ll miss huge crowds during evening hours. With current weather, this year they might have in the next 2-3 weeks.

Cherry Blossoms

This is my last one in this series, for now. I’ll look later in archive and see if any other photos are to my liking for sharing. When I went to take sunrise photos most people were taking photos of Jefferson Memorial across the Tidal Basin, with water included in the shot. I did the same, as you can see in my previous three photos. After taking those shuts, I went around the basin to find different angles on the memorial. On the other side of the basin there were no tourists and no photographers. After taking a few shots and trying different angles with trees, columns and rapidly rising sun I took this photo. I think it captures Cherry Blossoms with one of the most iconic American memorials in pretty cool way.
