With a few more weeks of winter left on the calendar I want to share some green colors we are going to see in just about two plus month from now. Back in early fall I was walking around the National Mall and saw this view off Washington Memorial with some early leaves on the ground. I was hoping to get back to the same spot a few weeks later and see how it looked with those trees getting some colors, but it never happened. Maybe some other year.
Most Cathedrals have cool windows, the National Cathedral in DC is no exception. Like take a look at this one. Btw, can any one read what it says at the bottom? – per request, see what it says at the bottom. When I took the photo I had no clue about it, discovered it only after started processing it and examining it in more details.
Short post today, we are on our way to swim with manatees. Cold front is coming down from the north and it is going to be cold. Not going to take any photos of it, just hope to see some and enjoy the experience.

I took this photo a few weeks ago at the Reagan National Airport (DCA). I think they have at least three of them there. This one is near C gates, where USAir flies from. DCA is probably one of the coolest airports in US, at least the ones that I have a chance to go through.
What other airports are photogenic?
About five minutes after taking this photo, I was on the other side of the monument walking back to the Lincoln memorial, I heard the familiar sound of helicopters. Everyone else heard it too and then we saw three helicopters approaching from the south towards the White House. Presidential helicopters. They approached quickly, passed over our heads and then one of them took to the left, another to the right, but one slowly descended at the lawn in front of the White House. Everyone was watching. Everyone was trying to get a glimpse of who is going to come out from it. Too far. From where we were you can’t see any detail all the way at the White House. Still, everyone was looking in the same direction. Some had cameras out trying to zoom in. Too far.
You know what I was thinking? – Damn, I wish I was still back at that spot where I was five minutes ago.
