Beautiful Colorado

Doing photography during the day, with harsh sun, rarely works. Unless it is a cloudy day and you get a bit of light dance, like in this large mountain landscape. I just had to stop and take this photo. A few seconds later clouds moved and it did not look the same.

The Shadow

Are we done with winter yet?

Aurora Borealis

Here is one more from last week Aurora Borealis in Boulder Colorado. I think the peak was somewhere around midnight.
Not sure where those orange colors right above Flatirons came from, but camera picked it up. There is really nothing there to have this light, but perhaps it is part of the whole thing.

One more light dance

One more sky dance from last night. The new image was taken with different lens than the other one I shared last night (shown again as second image). Which one do you like?

Tech info:
First here is f1.8, ISO100, 15 sec, 55mm fixed
Second is f4, ISO500, 25 sec, 12mm (12-24)

Mount Mitchell

Looking at Mount Mitchell, the highest point on the East coast. Trees are slowly getting some green on them, at lower elevation already fully green, yet here most ridges are see through.
