Mostly sunny day turned into not the most exciting sunset. Went up to Mount Sanitas (my 51st) for sunset and didn’t see any sun anywhere. One of those nights. Also, didn’t see many people on the trail either, which is nice, the less the merrier š
Do you remember all that snow we had yesterday? Pretty much all gone. But no worries, I hear another snowstorm is coming tomorrow evening š.
Nice sunset hike, my 48th for this year up to Mount Sanitas. Nice views from different parts of the trail. Was not busy at all.
All those late afternoon clouds were promising for some spectacular sunset colors, but there were too many of them to the westā¦sun dropped behind early and never showed up again. The side benefit, summit was pretty deserted, which is how I personally like it.
Very windy at the ridge while exposed to the west, all those 20+ miles/hour today winds in Indian Peaks could be felt at Sanitas, especially at some exposed spots on the Lion’s Lair. As soon as you get on the east side, it’s like there is no wind at all. Boulder is very protected from the west.
Unpromissing sunset did turn out a few sparks, just for a few minutes. Always nice to have little reward in the middle of the hike. My hike #9 up to Mount Sanitas.
