I took this from my window at Hilton hotel near DuPont Circle. I stayed there only once while back and had this nice view of the city. If you ever get a chance then stay at this hotel as well, make sure to get your room on a high floor and with DC down town views.

And here I am taking a surreal tour of the Capitol Wastelands in Fallout 3. Nice to be reminded that DC and DuPont Circle aren’t wreckage and remains as in the game.

l processed this photo sometime last year, so last night I was looking at it and was trying to decide if that light is from the below buildings or some light that was sneaking through the heavy window drapes that I was using to keep the lighted room behind me out of the window reflections. still can’t decide which it is. maybe a combination of all
Maybe it’s a combination. But the light which is reflected from the facades up in the sky and the light from beneath which doesn’t hit the monuments but continues up in the atmosphere contribute to the light smog.
