Bixby Bridge

March is finally here, hopefully it will bring some warmer winds and get the flowers blooming. Can’t wait.

This is one of those places where I can probably visit as many times as physically possible – Big Sur. Even though so far I went there only one time, hopefully it was not the only visit I manage to this beautiful place of paradise.

Best City to Live At

Just read last week that the best city to live in US is San Francisco. The criteria is based on multiple factors, all boiling down to the quality of life one can get at that specific city. I visited San Francisco a few times and really enjoyed it. Just need to make a few million bucks to live there comfortably, not a small order.

Hmm, I’d take any of those houses below as my primary or part time residence.

Bixby Bridge From Far Away

Bixby Bridge in Big Sur California is probably photographed as much as many other famous bridges, at least if you count on how many people go over it, the percentage of them stopping and taking a photo is more likely very close the rest of them. Given that it is remote and you have to get there somehow via your own transportation, it does not get as many people as bridges in large cities, still I bet most tourists will make a stop somewhere around it to take a photo. I actually took a few photos, some from the far away south side, some from the far away north, and couple just next to it. You can see couple of them under “Big Sur” category already published.

Friday Mystery Photo

Black Friday

So if you didn’t spend all your precious cash on all kind of stuff then stop by my photo gallery and see if any of 700+ photos might be a good gift for upcoming holiday season. Just saying.

Somewhere in California

I actually do not remember the exact location of where I took this photo. Can anyone identify the name of the bridge for me and even better provide coordinates? I’d like to put exact geo coordinates in the photo.

Weekend Update: Thanks to smithartonline and Alli Farkas for identifying the name of the bridge! It is Big Creek Bridge.

Monterey Sunrise

Photomatix 5.0

If you are into doing HDR photography then make sure to get the latest version of the Photomatix software. They just released version 5.0 and it has some nice new features and great improvements in image quality. I was really struggling with prior version of the software on the following image, it looked like crap, no matter what I tried to do with it. With new version they have a new mode, they call it “Balanced” and it really makes some wonders. I was much happier with how it turned out on this photo.

In Pacific Grove

If you look on the right side under categories, you’ll find a few other images from this area. California’s coast line is beautiful, no matter where you go and Pacific Grove in Monterey is no exception.

As always on all of my photos on this blog, if you want to see it in higher resolution, all you have to do is click on the image and it will open in my photo gallery.
