Little Creatures

Marco Island was a total shell fest. I was really surprised to see so many of them. On the east coast around NC/SC beaches you are not going to see that many shells. Marco Island beaches were packed with them. Pretty cool stuff. I took a few pictures with different concentrations and different sizes. You will have to see them all over the next few weeks.

This is closer to the south point on the beach, even after two days of calm weather there were still tons of them. And they were constantly moving.

Something Is Coming

I like big empty beaches, it is hard to find a moment with no people on the beach, especially in south Florida, wait, it can be done, just wait for some cloud cover and get out there in mid morning. No one is around. Too cold for them.

It was a nice day.

Million Dollar Views–Million Dollar Challenge

Million dollar views, from a million dollar house. Yep, apartments at this place start at about 1.2 green ones. The top level penthouse goes for around 7.5 million. Well, I’ll be modest, I don’t need the top level penthouse, but I would not mind to have one of those ocean facing apartments. The only missing part is cash to get one.

But if I had one of those apartments, I could take sunset pictures, not just once, but I can take them every night and post them here and everywhere else. You would be able to enjoy the view with me. Win-Win situation. From only three night at that island I can say that those sunsets are pretty darn nice.

So it only takes about one million people around the world to purchase one of my pictures and I’ll promise to you all to get one of those places and take sunset pictures and sunrise pictures and share it all with you all. Yep that’s easy. Pictures start at a few bucks (I ‘d only get a fraction of it…that is why it will take at least a million of you to make me a million Smile), you can afford it, go head and choose something from my photo gallery.

Tasty Snack

During our last night at the Marco Island we went for a looong walk on the beach in hopes to get some sunset pictures. Sunset was pretty much a nonevent that evening, but the combination of low level clouds and the ocean produced some pretty cool effects, you can see it in this photo I posted couple weeks ago “Where the Sky and the Ocean Becomes One”. That photo was taken actually after sun went down, about 30-40 minutes after I took this photo. We saw him eating the fish from far a away with some folks lurking around taking pictures and observing him. He didn’t really care. He just went about his eating business like no one was around. Not that the fish is big, he could just pick it up and fly away, but maybe it was a bit tastier right there next to the water. I’m glad he decided to stay there and allow to take some photos, but tell you what, he did not stay still for a second. This eagle was all about eating that fish and getting a good photo without spooking him off was a bit of a challenge.

Paradise Fountain

The Marriott Resort on the Marco Island is pretty up there on the scale and folks staying at that place seam to think of themselves a lot too, everyone is super dressed and pampered. Like some kind of yappy crowd from the north hiding from the cold. Don’t get me wrong, that is just fine how they dressed, but for simple guy like me it is a bit too much because I’ll just put on basic comfy shorts or comfortable pair of jeans, walk around there and feel just fine, no reason to super dress for anyone.

So the front entrance to this place has a U turn type of drive up the hill and most folks arriving by car (well all of them) drive up to the front door and let their car to be valet parked. The parking is right across the street and I don’t mind to park my car myself and save on the valet parking. By doing so I actually had a chance to check out the front of the hotel landscaping, which is very nice, it is occupying that whole empty space in the U drive and if you never venture out from the hotel you’ll never even see it. One evening we came back late after dinner and I could not resist but pull my camera out and get a few shots. The red fountain is actually changes colors and goes up and down. Pretty cool, huh?
