I know that Asheville has a lot of murals, they are all over downtown, but I did not know that there is an actual “Asheville Mural Project” till I was looking at this photo. Sometimes you can learn new things just like that.

Where the Wild Things Are
Over the last couple years on every short trip or hike I try to take as many photos as I can. When the trip is done, I might process some of them, but many will be just seating on the hard drive. Occasionally I’ll browse through them and try to find something to process and show on the blog. Yesterday I have been processing bunch of them from the same day, during which we hiked and then spent some time around town. I did a few time lapses at the time as well. Hopefully I can get all of them ready soon, compile into short movie and post it online.
This was one of the first photos I took that day as we went on a short hike at Mount Mitchell.
Spring Colors
Spring is in full swing and it brings us all the beautiful and rich colors of the new year, including all the pollen, which is very annoying. For the last couple weeks I wanted to post one of the photos from the nearby park, which I took a few years back. At the same time I wanted to infuse something from current season as well, just didn’t have a chance to go and shoot it. Then after taking some, my laptop died and I had to wait to be fully operational.
The following photos were taken in Winston-Salem as we went on the late afternoon walk. I tried to get a few landscape shots, but none end up looking interesting in comparison to the tight close ups.
Focusing on the flowers at such close up distance was a bit challenging, especially with wind gusts moving them all around. Half a dozen takes and we have a decent one to share. Thanks goodness to digital!
A few houses from ours, some neighbors have this amazing assortment of the azaleas, all different colors and planted tightly next to each other, making really beautiful display.
and finally, I took this photo a few years back at the same park, and I was planning to post it by itself, but then we went on our little walk and I had a chance to snap a few close ups.
Fallen Tree
800
Hard to believe but this post is #800 on the blog. At least 800 photos have been posted from 32 different US States and 10 different countries and two continents. Thanks all for being part of it!
The Hike
We do this hike 2-3 times each year and usually stop for a little break by this tree. Have some snacks and then continue into the woods. It is a bit more strenuous after this.
The Color Run
We did The Color Run this morning and here is some fun after the run. Enjoy.
