Roller Derby

If you follow me on Twitter then you’ll notice that last night I went to see Roller Derby. What a blast! I have never been to one before and all my knowledge about it was from watching a movie with Drew Barrymore, which was many years ago. My wife got us some tickets via Living Social and we decided to go and see it. I had no idea what to expect and if it would be any good, and oh boy, how awesome it was! You can seat on the floor right next to the yellow line and watch them in action from ten feet away. For the most of their bout I did not understand how they earn points, well, I still don’t, but that really didn’t matter. Watching them roller skating and audience screaming all over around us was an entertainment that I would repeat again and again.

And if you folks have a chance to see one, then go and do it! Time well spent.

Adds

I’ve been resisting against turning adds on my blog for almost one year. The main reason against it is because I feel that WordPress had done pretty bad design over it and provides literally zero control over it to the blog owners. All I can do is turn it on or off. I have no control on how adds are displayed on my site. I have waited for more than one year on them doing some improvements to the advertising platform and nothing have changed. So I have decided to turn on adds on the site and see what it will bring in one month and if over the twelve month timeframe it will cover all the hosting expenses or not. Maybe over time WordPress will eventually give more control on how these adds can be displayed.

North Carolina Sunset

I didn’t post my videos with corresponding photos in a while (except yesterday), so I’m trying to catch up on it with a few posts. I think this time lapse was done about fifteen month ago, beautiful sunset in our North Carolina mountains, a bit humid and sticky, with some mosquitos flying around, but that is normal pretty much anywhere these days.  This year we have been sluggish and made to the NC mountains only once, went to hike the Boone Fork hike couple weeks ago in hopes to eat some blackberries, but they were not ready yet. By now they are probably all eaten by other hikers and occasional black bears.

Reynolda Gardens

Yesterday afternoon we went for a short walk to the Reynolda Gardens near Wake Forest University. It was raining on and off all day, somehow we managed to squeeze this walk between and didn’t get rained on, but the rose gardens at Reynolda had some nice water drops on most flowers. I had my camera with me and decided to take some photos of all those flowers…maybe got a bit carried away with it, as you will see in the rest of this post. This is only maybe half of all the photos I took. Enjoy.

and here is the rest of them, hopefully you are no longer on dial up and have ability to see it quick.
