Home, Sweet Home

We are under assault of another winter storm and I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. We don’t have snow too often in NC, so if I’m around when it happens I try to take some photos around my house. It just look prettier with little sparkle. Yesterday I also took a quick time lapse video of the falling snow on my deck, it was growing from nothing to a few inches in a matter of couple hours. Check it out right after the photo.

Pink Sunset

Yesterday I shared with you winter photo from the west coast. Today we are going to be on the other coast, still in the mountains, but not during winter time, this was sometime in May if my memory serves me well, with some mosquitos annoyingly  flying around. This is the view from one of the spots from Blue Ridge Parkway, maybe about 45 minutes north from Asheville, NC. The sun is actually probably setting somewhere in Tennessee, in those wild smoky mountains.

If you are new here, you can always click in the photo to see it at higher resolution, much better way to see it.

Maybe about 10-15 seconds left and then it will be gone.

Summer Creek

Its been so cold with this so called “arctic vortex” freezing half of the country that I wanted to see something nice summery, with warm colors, but not too hot. I took this photo back in August in Appalachian mountains, on a perfect day for hiking and enjoying the woods.

Convergence

This weekend we went overnight to Asheville. I didn’t take any photos with my big cameras, only a few shots with my phone. But we stayed at the recently opened A Loft hotel, right in down town, which was pretty cool. They upgraded us to the pool level with our door opening on the terrace with our own private terrace level. It as really convenient, but you have to make sure to lock those terrace doors. Next room to us was rubbed in that afternoon, iPad and some other expensive toys disappeared. There were a bunch young females staying there, all bridesmaids for the upcoming weekend wedding. They forgot to lock the door.

Since we are on the subject of Asheville, we are going to see something from that area. I took this photo at Biltmore Estate last summer, it was part of my short time lapse video, some of you who has been here for a while will surely recognize. I think they cut the grass just an hour or so before I took this, I really like how those lines are taking my eye all the way to the house.
