Sailing Puget Sound

I believe I took this photo off the ferry going to either Alki Beach or to the Bainbridge Island, can’t recall which one. I think based on our positioning it was probably from the Alki Beach ferry. It is not really a ferry, it is more like a water taxi, you can’t bring your car on it, and only takes about 5-10 minutes to cross it, depending on how fast they decide to go. Sailing boats are always cool looking, at least to me, especially with some nice background, like a sunset or skyscrapers of a large city.

Changing Clocks

Loosing one hour of our day on a nice spring day is very unpleasant, but that what we had to do today. At least we’ll have longer evenings now.

Seattle at Night

Prior to my last trip to Seattle I did some research on where all of the most iconic Seattle photos were taken. One of the spots is at Dr Jose Rizal Park. With Seattle weather, being mostly grey during the winter time, I arrived on a super clear night, with no single cloud in the sky, so after landing, the first thing I did is went straight to that park to take a few photos, it could be my only opportunity to take these photos before clouds and rain come back to the city. I walked around the park and took photos from different vantage points. This one was taken at a very low point, actually if I remember right, not even at the park itself, but one of the service roads, right beneath it.

Seattle Lights

Prior to my recent trip to Seattle I did some research about best spots to get city shots. The most iconic photos are taken either from Kerry Park or from Dr. Jose Rizal Park. While in Seattle I went to both places, twice, to take some photos. Each time they were packed with photographers with their tripods, shooting it away. I think I got a few good shots of the city from those spots as well (coming sometime soon).

One evening I decided to go to the harbor and take some sunset photos. Didn’t see a single photographer with a tripod, just many tourists with their cameras happy snapping away, but none of the serious looking ones from the hills. And for the most part they are right, there are not that many “city” shots from the harbor, unless you are looking for one and mother nature cooperates with you, just like in today’s photo. We had a few rainy days, producing all those water puddles, following with beautiful sunny and clear days. Perfect for reflections. Up to date this is my favorite photo of Seattle. I hope you enjoy it too!

Pike Street Public Market

I’d guess that pretty much every visitor to Seattle earlier or later ends up at this market. Pretty cool place to stroll by and maybe even get some fresh seafood, fruit or some time type of souvenir.

Seattle Space Needle

Today I booked my ticket for Seattle. Going back there on a business trip in just about 6 weeks. Planning to make a short detour to Whistler/Blackcomb for some snowboarding action and maybe some big mountain photography. Hopefully weather cooperates with me on that trip. I’ve been to BC a few times and it is either super duper rainy and grey or absolutely dead gorgeous. Pretty much 50-50 split. And I will try to make across the harbor to check out downtown Seattle as well, will it look like that in the middle of winter?
