Well, it is time to get one more of them out. I think this is the last one I have in my archives. This one was taken in a different Hu Tong than most of the other doors. It was somewhere near the Black Lake, somewhat northwest of the Forbidden city. We drove bikes around the town and went through this Hu Tong, I had to get on my breaks and snap this one out.

Temple of Heaven
In the middle of the day this is one of the spots that I could take a picture of it not see any other tourists. It was unbelievably hot day with smoggy air. This picture shows blue sky but it done via some magic of software and combination of different exposures into one. It just looks much better this way.
Pink Tunnel
This was early morning, start of a long day in Beijing. We walked out from Courtyard Hotel (the one not far from the central station) and as most of our time in Beijing started walking. Walking was our primary method of transportation. It is slower and you get tired but at the same time you get a chance to check out things otherwise completely unnoticed. So I saw these flags the day before, and tried to take a picture, but traffic was busier and it was windy, with flags flapping in all directions, just didn’t look good. This morning it was calm, super hot with air staying still, at 8AM already getting our sweat glands working at full capacity, but it allowed me to stop for a few moments in the middle of the road and take a few pictures.
Beijing Hu Tong Red Door #7
Time for another Red Door. Check out previous doors under the Beijing category, there on the right. This one was actually open and we have a glimpse into the long hall that leads probably to multiple dwellings or maybe it is all part of one compound. The sign at the top probably can tell what this place is all about. Katia, would you translate it for me please?
