Or something like that. Under the temple hood. This is at the Temple of Heaven. Same time as other pictures under this category. Same hot weather. If not for this, we’d seat in hotel room and watch TV, or hang around swimming pool. But how often do you get to visit Temple of Heaven?

Beijing Hu Tong Red Door #6
It is time for another one of these pretty doors. As most of them it is very abused and used. Weeds are doing just fine on that roof as well, I wonder how old it is. I don’t think anyone lives there, it looks more like some type of local government or maybe some type of utility company office. I would translate those signs but don’t have dictionary handy at the moment.
Anyhow, this is #6 in this short series of Red Doors, if you want to see details and translate some of that Chinese you can just click on the image to open it my art gallery at much higher resolution. You can also see other Red Doors if you look under Beijing category on the right.
Beijing Hu Tong Red Door #5
It is time for another one of these pretty doors. I have a few left. You know, if I visited Beijing fairly often, or lived there, I could even start a serious project to document every Hu Tong Red Door in Beijing. There are must be hundreds of them there. I took less than a dozen just on one street while walking from our hotel towards downtown. We didn’t take big streets, instead went though the hood, so much to see. All of these doors will soon disappear as government expand new developments in the city and take over the land.
Anyhow, this is #5 in this short series of Red Doors. You can see other if you look under Beijing category on the right.
Temple Of Heaven, Little Gems
This photo was taken at the same spot as photo in Around Temple of Heaven Park post. You don’t have to be at the most visited areas to find interesting subjects. There is so much color here and so much detail in all of the ornaments and paintings. Someone took their time to make this pagoda super pretty. Click on the image to open it in my photo gallery and see it in better detail. This is HDR made from a single photo.
